Kerala State Sports Council has implemented Elite Scheme in various disciplines like Athletics, Volleyball and Basketball in order to nourish the sports skills in young talented sports persons and to make them capable of securing medals in Asian/ Common wealth/ Olympic Games.

• Promising sports players are selected on merit after selection trials and they are provided with monthly Boarding/ Lodging Expenses, training under expert coaches, medical treatment, Study facilities and conditioning facilities
• Currently there are 3 centres functioning under Elite scheme.

• Each player is given Rs.450/- per day as Boarding Lodging charges and Rs.1000/- per month as pocket money.

• The Coaches under this scheme are given Rs.375/- per head as Boarding /Lodging Charges. In addition to this they are given honorarium of Rs.10,000/- per month after deducting 10% TDS.

Students under this scheme can also claim for medical reimbursement by producing true copies of attested medical bills. 20% would be approximate Medical Expenditure
